JOIN US SUNDAY, MAY 5 IN SUPPORT OF ST. BALDRICK'S FOUNDATION
FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER RESEARCH
Both high schools in Belvidere, IL – Belvidere High School and Belvidere
North – are teaming up to create a day of fun-filled events to raise funds for
childhood cancer research
The fun will begin with the Bucs Thundering Towards A Cure 5K Color Walk/Run at the Boone County Fairgrounds. This spectacularly-fun race is all about
having a great time with your friends and family while getting covered from
head-to-toe in a wild explosion of color. Everyone is welcome to join the fun –
whether you choose to sprint to the finish, jog your way through, bring your
kids in a stroller or walk with a group of friends. It's all about raising funds for
a great cause and having the experience of a lifetime!
The fun will continue with the St. Baldrick's signature head-shaving event at
Belvidere High School in the Auxiliary Gym. Why all the shaved heads? Since
2000, more than 240,000 volunteers – including more than 24,000 women –
have shaved their heads in solidarity with children who have cancer. Thanks
to generous friends and family, these shavees have raised more than $146
million in donations for life-saving research, and each is a walking billboard
for the cause! Sign up at www.stbaldricks.org/events/BucsThundering
